11 billionaire romance books worth investing your time in

We’ve all heard the adage, “It’s just as easy to fall in love with a rich man as it is a poor one.” And it’s easy to see the appeal of falling in love with a man flush with cash and wielding immense influence and power: He can take care of your every need, in both the boardroom and bedroom.

While real-life billionaires are hard to come by, there are billionaire romance books aplenty. Fifty Shades of Grey started the billionaire romance novel craze in earnest, but there are so many more worthwhile entries in this subgenre out there.

Here are some of the best billionaire romance books featuring men who are ridiculously wealthy and always get what they want. From possessive to alpha billionaires, you’ll be sure to find a story that pays off. (If you loved Fifty Shades of Grey, you can’t go wrong with Bared to You.)

1. Billionaire Secrets by Ainsley Booth

Booth’s secret billionaire romance novellas are fun and sexy. The three billionaires in these stories aren’t the alphaholes found in Fifty Shades; these heroes are far kinder than that, but no less rich, powerful, and alluring.

Set in Australia, The Billionaire Stepbrother follows Bailey Sheppard, who’s had a friends with benefits relationship that now has to stop because Nick’s getting married — right as she’s about to tell him she wants more. To drown out her sorrows, she hooks up with a stranger who is Nick’s reclusive billionaire stepbrother, Hunter. Bailey and Hunter enter into a fake relationship that gradually becomes real (lovable tropes upon tropes!). Bailey is a quirky spitfire, while Hunter is surprisingly humble (you know, for a billionaire).

3. Bared to You by Sylvia Day

Bared to You features the alphahole you’ve come to expect from a billionaire romance. Day’s hero, Gideon Cross, is as damaged and rich as Christian Grey. The heroine, Eva Tramell, is less naive than Ana, but her past is more traumatic. The sex scenes are scorching hot, as is their obsession with one another.

4. Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren

Originally written as Twilight fanfiction, the two authors who write under the pen name Christina Lauren reworked this book following the success of Fifty Shades, but made it funny. Beautiful Bastard is an enemies-to-lovers office romance, à la The Hating Game, but it has many more sex scenes and a powerful executive as the hero.

5. Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen

Bowen tackles the billionaire genre with Brooklynaire, which is also part of Bowen’s hockey-themed Brooklyn Bruisers series. Nate and Rebecca have been friends and coworkers for some time, with Nate harboring a crush on his assistant — a crush he hasn’t revealed. But when Rebecca winds up living at his house, things get heated. Bowen’s thoughtful and sexy romances showcase well-drawn characters who are incredibly relatable (despite their billionaire status).

6. The Billionaire by Marni Mann

Not only is this a billionaire romance, it also is an age gap, no strings attached book about a real estate executive who lives in Los Angeles and a college student from Miami. They spend a sexual week together, but then can’t seem to move on from one another. It’s got a familiar set-up, but the ride is super sexy fun.

Packed with more than enough tropes in the title alone, Gallagher’s Virgin Cowboy Billionaire’s Secret Baby is far more emotionally resonant than its clickbait title makes it seem. Matt Coolidge is shy, awkward and loyal; Dara Marley is forthright and determined. Their romance is incredibly sweet.

This novella packs a lot of sexy scenes in its short length. An opposites attract story, Josephine is a computer geek, while Holden is a suave player. He rescues her from a bad date, and the two hook up, after which she ghosts him. But neither can stop thinking about the other, though the road to their happily ever after is paved with miscommunication and difficult exes.

10. Burn for You by J.T. Geissinger

Geissinger excels at writing characters that make you feel all the feels. The hero of Burn for You, Jackson, is a billionaire with a twist: In order to secure his inheritance, he has to get married. Enter a fake relationship, where Jackson is willing to pay oodles of cash to a chef who’s struggling with her mother’s medical bills. There are past secrets, current sexytimes, and lots of pining.
